Vintage challenge at Digi Makeover

Hello and happy Monday!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and you are starting a great week. For me, this week will be very, very busy, but interesting (including a wedding!)...
I would like to show you a card I made for our challenge at Digi Makeover:

This week our challenge is VINTAGE. So grab a digistamp and make a vintage style project and join us this time!!!!!!!!

I looked in the huge collection of digis and found this cute little girl called Arelia to make my card (because she looks a little vintage to me). I colored it with Koh-i-noor aquarelable pencils and cut it with an oval die cut (Sizzix) and distressed the edge with a pink ink pad to give that old look to the image.

I used dp from My mind's eyes, and a Paper Passport (Provo Craft) pad. I used a florished embossing folder (Sizzix) for the background with some pastel yellow cardstock, for all the pieces I used pink cardstock to mat it and distressed all the border with the pink ink pad too to get the same, uniform look.

I used some embellishments that make the card look more vintage, lace, pink seam Binding ribbon and pearls, I wanted to have flowers too, but when I tried them, I didn´t like how it looks, so I left it without the flowers...

This was the biggest challenge in my whole year with this DT. I am not into vintage, and think is really hard to make a card looking vintage... hahaha.... I admire some crafters than can do so beautiful creations with this style, but definitively it's not my style, but I did my best. What do you think?

I would like to enter this card to the following challenges:
Feeling sketchy: #67
Come and get it: things with wings
Joanna Sheen: embossing
Lacy sunshine: girls, girls, girls
Sugar Creek Hollow: a child's life
Cards crafter's circle: winged things

Vintage dress

Vintage is not my style and it´s really hard for me, so this is a real challenge... the one at Michelle Perkett Studio this week is to do a vintage project.

I used the freebie offered at her site and colored it with acuarelable pencils. I distressed the borders with a brown ink pad to get that vintage flavour :)

I used dp from Muresco in red, one is dotted and the second one is a plaid one. I also used red and black cardstock.

I used a sentiment from Create with TLC and made a small tag attached with a red bow.

I also used scalloped punch and a daisy punch to make the flowers and used white bling for the center of each flower. I also sponged the dotted paper with the same brown ink pad.

Challenges:
Michelle Perkett: vintage
Scrap creations: sketch
 365 cards: vintage plus black
Crazy amigo challenge: black, white and red

CDAC PROGRESSIVE FREEBIE CHALLENGES 1st card

I signed up for CDAC PROGRESSIVE FREEBIE CHALLENGES a few days ago, I printed the images, colored some of them, but until today I didn´t have time to start with the cards for the challenge...

I started with the images offered by Sandi (Sandi Samples), a teapot and a tea cup, I colored with acuarelable pencils. I used yellow and kraft colors for these images as I wanted to particpated at cr84fn color challenge, this time: yellow, kraft and neutral.

I used two different yellow dp and kraft paper. I used lace from Paper Studio. And I distressed the borders with a brownish ink pad.

To mount the images I used some foami tape to give some volume to the card.

When I finished it I thought it looks very vintage, isn´t it? Really is not my style, and to tell you the truth, I think is the most ( or my first) vintage creation I did... and I like it!!! :)
